Otto Penzler is the owner of the Mysterious Bookshop in New York City and the founder of the Mysterious Press and Otto Penzler Books. He has been the series editor of THE BEST AMERICAN MYSTERY STORIES since its inception in 1997. Lawrence Block is one of the genre's most prolific authors, with more than fifty books to his name, including his most recent, HOPE TO DIE. He has received numerous awards throughout his distinguished career, including several Edgar and Shamus awards. He is a Mystery Writers of America grand master, and the Wall Street Journal hailed him as 'one of the very best writers now working the beat.' He lives in New York City.
