Best Friends by Martha Moody

Martha Moody's first novel examines the dynamics of friendship between two very different women. Meeting as college roommates, the girls are surprised to learn that, despite their many differences, the two form a bond that will last a lifetime.

Martha Moody has lived in Ohio her entire life. Moody, a novelist and physician from Dayton, has sold almost a million copies of his three prior works of fiction. Moody was born in Canfield and raised in Mount Vernon and Mentor, where she attended Mentor High School and Oberlin College. She is the author of Best Friends (2001), The Office of Desire (2007), and Sometimes Mine (2009). At the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, she earned her MD and finished her residency. She was a private practice internist for fifteen years before retiring to spend more time writing and with her husband and four sons. Since 2000, she has volunteered as a doctor at a working-poor clinic, as a writing teacher for schools and arts centers, and in the Dayton Jewish community, for which she has received multiple honors. She has led groups of volunteers to Israel for the past five summers to teach English at a two-week camp in Deir al-Assad, an Arab village in the Galilee.
