Summary

Adam and Joe take Bear to play hide-and-seek in the woods. When their game is over, the boys go home, leaving poor, old Bear behind. The woodland animals - a mouse, a toad, a squirrel, a blackbird and a fox - all invite Bear to their homes. He tries them all, but none of them is right for him - small, wet, high, scratchy and scary.

The Best Home by Sarah Nash

Joe and Adam play in the woods and then run home, leaving Bear behind. The woodland animals invite him to stay, but poor old Bear just wants to go home!
Four stunningly illustrated picture books for early years, featuring universal themes of family life.. from Dad trying to influence his son's choice of toy, to the raggedy blanket that should be dumped Guardian
Sarah Nash is a speech therapist and primary school teacher who works in Haringey with children with communication difficulties. She lives in London with her family and loves reading and writing. Pamela Venus lives in a long stone cottage on the North Yorkshire coast, illustrating children's books - her childhood ambition. She trained in Reigate and later in Birmingham. Her four grandchildren live very close at hand and have been her best reference and truest critics, and their toys the supporting cast in her pictures.
