Rob Mason is Sunderland AFC's official club historian. He has written 40 books on the club, edited their official publications for over 30 years and won multiple awards, including many 'Programme of the Year' accolades, as well as being 'Editor of the Year'. He first watched Sunderland in 1967, is an honorary member of the club's Former Players' Association and has been featured in broadcasts around the world talking about the Black Cats.
