Each honest discussion and disclosure, whether joyful or heartbreaking, is completely different from the other because of family dynamics, living situations, gender, and the transition these teens make in recognition of their true selves.
Susan Kuklin is the author and photographer of over thirty books for children and young adults, including No Choirboy: Murder, Violence, and Adolescents on Death Row and Beyond Magenta: Transgender Youth Speak Out, which was named a Stonewall Honor Book. Her work has been included in the New York City Museum, documentary films, Time magazine, Newsweek, and the New York Times. Susan Kuklin is a New York City resident.
