The Bible Speaks to Third and Fourth Agers by Richard Lyon Morgan

The author looks at well-known Bible characters such as Abraham, Moses and Paul, as well as lesser known ones such as Caleb, Manasseh and Lois, and shows how they continued to be shaped and used by God to the very end of their lives. He demonstrates that a lot of familiar Bible stories are in fact about the activities of people who in today's society would be seen as very much "senior citizens", rather than active leaders. The book includes 120 meditations taking the form of a scripture reading (from Genesis to 1 John), comment, and meditation or prayer. It is aimed at older people, both active (Third Agers) and dependent (Fourth Agers); those who work full or part-time caring for older people; and those with pastoral oversight of older people.
Dr Richard Lyon Morgan has worked for more than 40 years as a Presbyterian minister in the USA, as well as lecturing in theological colleges and working as a college director of counselling. Since 'retirement' he has had 8 books published (Upper Room Books) and has focused on ministry with older people. He is the grandson of Dr G. Campbell Morgan, former minister of Westminster Chapel, London.
