Nasr, Kameel: - In 1980 Kameel Nasr hopped on a bicycle and eventually traveled around the world, delving into the rural areas of poor countries where life has changed little over the centuries. His impressions of daily life are transposed to Son of the Last Martyrs. The Lebanese-born author studied both Western and Eastern religion all his life. He was a member of a religious community and spent time trying to be a hermit. As well as a world traveler, Nasr is also a dancer, amateur astronomer, marathoner, and artist. He is a resident of both Boston and Sardinia, Italy, and has authored a delightful series of Boston-based mysteries about art and music.
