When she was first assaulted at age twelve, Jennifer Storm turned to alcohol to dull the emotional pain. After a string of childhood traumas, she fell into drug use and self-harm. Jennifer was born and reared in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and wrote her first novel, Deadly Loyalties, when she was fourteen years old. Jennifer earned the Helen Betty Osborne Award and the Manitoba Aboriginal Youth Achievement Award in 2006. Jennifer is a student at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, where she is studying Aboriginal Studies.
