Blackstone's Crime Investigators' Handbook by Tony Cook
A comprehensive, practical handbook covering criminal investigations, and outlining the legal procedures and operational protocols relating to specific offences. Covers the key stages of conducting and managing an investigation, with specific guidance on crime scene management, evidence preservation, and witness and suspect management.
A great dip in and out resource for investigators a useful reminder for those already trained and need to refresh or have quick access to specific information* Police Constable, Metropolitan Police *
This is a compact, concise guide for the Criminal Investigator. I found each chapter was well explained and was pitched at a level where those from Trainee Investigator to Senior Investigating Officer could understand and reference with ease. * Detective Constable Major Incident Team, Greater Manchester Police *
The Handbook is excellent - as useful for investigators as the SIO Handbook is for leaders. Why would you leave home without one? * Stephen Tunks, Investigative Training Manager, Avon and Somerset Police *
