I really enjoyed the Scottish poems. My favourite was probably "A Pict Song" by Rudyard Kipling as it told me how the Picts lived and how much they hated the Roman invaders. There were a number of poems about Edward 1 and his battles with the Scots and the book mentions the famous spider and Robert the Bruce - this time the spider tells the tale which was funny.
