Blowing It by Judy Astley
Hippies from the 70s, Mac and Lottie made a ton of money in the days of their progressive soft-rock band Charisma. But they've got little left apart from the rather grand but somewhat dilapidated house where they raised their family. Mac and Lottie now decide, on a whim, to sell up. To travel the world in style - as flash-packers, not back-packers - and blow the lot. However, their two elder children, now adults and far more sensible than their parents, see the house as their inheritance. Son Ilex fears they will come home to face a pension-deficient old age. Daughter Clover has plans of her own that involve a bijou second home in France, and the youngest, Sorrel, is looking forward to her gap year and would prefer to have a home to return to.Another fluffy, fun read from Astley* In The Know *

Judy Astley has been writing novels since 1990, following several years as a dressmaker, illustrator, painter and parent. Blowing It was inspired by her inability to be sensible with money. Being a high-maintenance blonde with a serious shopping habit (frocks, books, plants and music) uses up all potential pension-funds and Judy has unfortunately failed to make any plans for her own fast-approaching dotage except to request that her ashes be scattered in the Designers Guild fabric showroom.
Judy has two grown-up daughters and the world's best-ever grandson and lives with her equally profligate husband in SW London and Cornwall.
