Blue Warrior by Mike Maden
The latest incarnation of the Gold Rush has started. Except instead of California, rare minerals have been found in the remote Sahara desert. And instead of individuals, it is attracting a rush of powerful nations. In the dead centre of the chaos are Troy Pearce's closest friend and a mysterious woman from his past. Deploying his team and the newest drones to rescue his friends and save the rebellion of certain nations, Troy discovers that he may need more than technology to survive the battle and root out the real puppet masters behind the Tuareg genocide.Tom Clancy was a Maryland insurance broker with a penchant for naval history a little more than thirty years ago. He had been an English major at Loyola College in Baltimore for years and had always wanted to write a novel. The Hunt for Red October, the first of the tremendously popular Jack Ryan novels, sold swiftly due to glowing reviews, then rocketed to the top of the New York Times bestseller list after President Ronald Reagan declared it the ideal yarn. Clancy established himself as an unchallenged master of combining extraordinary realism and authenticity, sophisticated narrative, and razor-sharp tension from that day forward. He died in October of 2013.
