Sean Rubin is a Brooklyn native who grew up in the city. He is the author-artist of the Bolivar series and the illustrator of The Astronaut Who Painted the Moon: The Real Story of Alan Bean. For Bolivar, he was nominated for an Eisner Award in 2018. Sean earned his bachelor's degree from Princeton University, where he met his future wife, Lucy. They live in Charlottesville, Virginia, with their two sons.
