The Book of Common Prayer by King
This edition of "The Book of Common Prayer" presents the text of the 1552 version set forth by the Act of Uniformity at the accession of Queen Elizabeth I in 1558, the so-called Second Prayer Book, which has remained in daily use in Anglican churches for over 430 years. In the language of Wycliffe, Tyndale, Coverdale and Cranmer, it contains the great familiar liturgies of Morning and Evening Prayer, the Collects, Epistles and Gospels, the order of service for Holy Communion, the Athanasian Creed, and the special prayers for baptism, confirmation, marriage, burial and all the other church services. This edition has been produced to the highest standards, with 150 medieval and renaissance illuminations incorporating gold.
Author's Bio: Vanessa King was born and raised in Chicago and is the mother of, now, four adult children. She loves people and is a humanitarian by nature. In an effort to help a sister on her journey to sobriety, wholeness, and back into mainstream society, Vanessa became a regular volunteer at a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility in Chicago. A group session at the facility-that she calls His Gift to Me: Poetry, Writing, and Reading-is designed to impart hope and encourage women and mothers to gain and redefine their self-worth and confidence, that Yes, they can.
