About the Author Maxim Jakubowski was born in Barnet, London but brought up in Paris. He followed a career in publishing by opening the Murder One bookshop in London in 1988. He is an official advisor to several international film festivals, writes for a variety of publications including the Observer, the Big Issue and Time Out, and reviews crime in a monthly column in the Guardian. He is also contributing editor to Mystery Scene, a director of London's Crime Scene Festival and a winner of the Anthony Award.
