In England politicalrevolution was averted but in that year three young students at the Royal Academy started an artistic revolution that was to reverberate through the rest of the century. Their names were Dante Gabriel Rossetti, William Holman Hunt and John Everett Millais. They were united in their opposition to the prevailingartistc establishment.
