Mary Whyte is a watercolor artist and author whose work has received international acclaim. Her art has been featured in several magazines in the United States, France, Germany, Russia, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan, as well as in France, Germany, Russia, Canada, China, the United Kingdom, and Taiwan. Working South: Paintings and Sketches by Mary Whyte and Down Bohicket Road: An Artist's Trip are both published by the University of South Carolina Press. Alfreda's World, Painting Portraits and Figures in Watercolor, An Artist's Way of Seeing, and Watercolor for the Serious Novice are among her other works. Whyte has received the Gold Medal from the Portrait Society of America as well as the Elizabeth O'Neill Verner Award, South Carolina's highest artistic accolade.
