Boots to Freedom by Claude Tranchant
In 2010, after walking 100 days, at 64 years old, alone across France and Spain, along the Saint-James' Way, commonlyknown in Spain as the Camino, I thought, I had resolved and put aside all the ups and downs of my past life.Years later, I embarked on three different trails with a group: At 70, Larapinta Trail - The end to end - Red Centre - Northern Territory - Australia. At 71, Poon Hill - Nepal. Altitude: 3,210 metres. At 72, The Camino Frances with the group Camino Skies for a filmed documentary.Walking alone other Caminos.Spain: Finisterre - Muxia - Dumbria - Santiago de CompostelaHerbon - Santiago de CompostelaPortugal: Visiting, walking and travelling in and around Fatima and Porto.Covering approximately 1,100 kilometers. To my astonishment, I discovered during these walks that there was more for me to learn and to let go before I could really find freedom
About the Author Claude Tranchant was born in Aix-les-Bains (France). At the age of 21, she went to England and lived there for a while before returning to her home land where she worked in an Airline Company called Air Alpes before migrating to Australia in 1979. Claude is the mother of two children and has two grand-children. Claude Tranchant was neither a trekker nor a sporty person, though she took the challenge of crossing, alone, France and Spain on foot. On her return she was asked to write a book about her experiences and took her second challenge. Claude has proven that we are never too old to realize our dreams.
