Born 1900 by Hunter Davies
This book examines the lives of 24 people and 14 institutions that came into being in 1900, ranging from the Queen Mother, through the Labour Party, Daily Express, Birmingham University and the opera Tosca. He compares how we lived then with how we live now and attempts to answer many of the questions provoked by his interviews and explorations.
Hunter Davies is a former editor of the SUNDAY TIMES MAGAZINE and the author of 30 books. His interviews in the INDEPENDENT were pre-eminent in their field.
