This account, as virtual film, of Alexander the Great's early life envisages the life and times of this military genius and his contemporaries. His relationship with his brilliant but domineering father Philip, his beautiful but manipulative mother Olympias, and his compatriots.
M W Banks hails from Devon, England. He attended the Prebendal School in Chichester, followed by Pangbourne Nautical College. He was commissioned into the Royal Marines directly from school and thereafter served with the Fleet Air Arm. He received commando training, as well as training as a shallow water diver, and qualified as a Royal Navy helicopter pilot and flying instructor. He served actively in the military in Cyprus, Malaya and Borneo and thereafter, joined the Scotch Whisky industry, followed by NGO management and fundraising. He is a widower with one stepson. Favourite activities include aviation, writing and reading, and sporting activities: cricket, skiing, golf, swimming and horse riding. His previous publication was O Laughing River, a biography of Stonewall Jackson.
