Born To Trouble by Rita Bradshaw
Captain Murphey was reluctant to let Jimmie Trammell join up with the Rangers. But Jim wouldn't give up. After five days, he was still waiting for Cap to give him a chance when Carolina Krole arrived with an appeal for help. Her father had died in what she considered a suspicious mine accident and she had inherited the mine which her uncle was helping her manage. Now her uncle has disappeared and she fears there may have been foul play. Captain Murphey promises to send help as soon as someone is available.
