Bound for Exileby Mordechai Cogan, the newly translated companion volume of The Raging Torrent, presents a collection of Assyrian and Babylonian cuneiform texts that relate to the Israelites and Judeans living under the yoke of these great Mesopotamian empires during the 8th-6th centuries BCE. Mordechai Cogan, Ph.D., is professor emeritus of Biblical History at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He has written widely on the political and cultural connections between ancient Israel and the empires of the ancient Near East.
