A Boy's Own Offshore Adventure by Brian Page
Brian Page spent most of his working life in the North Sea oil industry. Armed with a huge store of anecdotes and first hand experiences, when his family and friends told him he should get it down on paper, he did not hesitate but buried himself in the study of his cottage in the Scottish Highlands. The result is a highly entertaining, sympathetic and above all accurate account of what life was really like for a generation of 'North Sea Tigers' and 'Rough Tough Oilmen'. Myths are debunked, truths are told and there's many a laugh between these pages.
Brian Page became captivated by China at an early age; his grandparents lived in China from 1915 to 1949 and his mother was born and raised there. He is currently a professor at the University of Colorado where he is the chair of the Department of Geography and Environmental Sciences.
