Fraserburgh-born Michael A. W. Strachan graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2010 with a MLitt in Modern Historical Studies, focusing mainly on Scottish and Irish Studies. He has been a member of the Boys’ Brigade since the age of five, joining the Anchor Boys in 1992. He gained his Queen’s Badge in 2005, and has served as a voluntary officer in the Brigade since 2006. He served as President of the Buchan Battalion from 2013 to 2017.
