Brain Friendly Revision by University Of The First Age
Developed by the University of the First Age, this book will help you create an effective revision programme for your students. It is organized into a series of workshops based on recent research into the brain and how it works, giving students valuable insight into how learning occurs and introducing them to specific, tried-and-tested revision techniques. The Brain Friendly Revision programme outlined has been used successfully by teachers, with positive results, in mainstream lessons and in intensive vacation revision programmes. The University of the First Age is an organization that works with schools and communities to extend and enrich the learning of young people beyond the school day. It promotes accelerated, brain-based approaches to help young people and their teachers unlock their true learning potential.
'UFA has always for me represented something exciting, vital, subversiveExciting because UFA people are good people to be around. Vital because it is a growing and learning community. Subversive because it is always ready to challenge received wisdom. The hallmark of the UFA is being open to new ideas and unafraid of change. The most long-lived of movements have grown from the ground up, and this is a singular strength of the UFA. Your growth has been vouchsafed by what you stand for - the compelling power of learning'. Professor John MacBeath, Cambridge University, 'Lets Talk UFA' 2001
Mike Hughes has extensive experience of working with teachers to help them develop and improve their classroom practice.
