
Breathturn by Paul Celan

Considered by many to be one of Celan's major writings, Breathturn brilliant reveals the Wende or turn of writing.
Celan was born in Bukovina (now Romania), where he witnessed his father and mother perish as a result of the Nazi occupation of their nation and their internment in concentration camps. Before committing suicide, he spent the majority of his life in Paris, writing in German.
