Brent Crude Oil by Adi Imsirovic
In 2023, the Brent oil benchmark, a key international oil price marker for global crude oil underwent a substantial change. It discusses the role of the North Sea in the international oil markets, as well as the role of the British government in the British national oil and gas monopoly (British National Oil Corporation or BNOC).“The book is a fascinating read for meI think it will also be a valuable reference for anyone who wishes to understand how Brent crude oil trading works, how the price is discovered and reported, how physical trading interacts with the futures market, and what caused the rise and fall of petroleum exchanges. It’s a good addition to the economic history of crude oil markets.” (Xiaoyi Mu, The Energy Journal, Vol. 46 (2), 2025)
