Brexit - And What It Means by Stefan Kadelbach

Brexit dominates the political debate in Britain and often also in Europe, but even as the date for an unregulated Brexit approaches, the consequences are all but clear. What does Brexit mean for Britains status vis-a-vis the single market? What happens to Union citizens living in Britain or British nationals residing in the EU? Has Brexit changed the political culture in the United Kingdom and how does it affect the shape of the European Union? And which prospects are there for future relations between UK and EU? These are the questions discussed during the 17th Walter Hallstein Symposium hosted by the Wilhelm Merton Centre for European Integration at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main on March 15 and 16, 2018. The present volume presents most of the contributions to this conference. The papers have been updated until November, partly until December 2018.
