Brian Boru: Warrior King by John Burke

Learn about the life and times of Brian Boru in the second book in John & Fatti Burke's Little Library series. Brian Boru grew up in a large warrior family over 1,000 years ago in Killaloe, Ireland. One of twelve sons, Brian and his brothers practiced raids on other counties from the River Shannon. Eventually, Brian's army and navy grew to be so big that he became King of all Ireland. But up in Dublin, the Vikings were invading. So he gathered his men and went into battle. Ages 6+.

John Burke is the co-founder of Gateway Church in Austin, Texas, with his wife, Kathy, and is the author of No Perfect People Allowed and Soul Revolution. John is also the president of the Emerging Leadership Initiative (ELI), a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting church planters and ordinary Christians in raising the church out of the culture. John has spoken to hundreds of thousands of church leaders and Christians in fifteen nations about how to reach a postmodern, post-Christian culture. His family and he live in Austin, Texas.
