The Bridge of the Golden Wood by Karl Beckstrand

Masterful...immensely appealing...readable...realistic but soft Asian-style illustrations. - Crystie Cook, poet

A child with a knack for solving problems helps some hungry fish and gains a reward.

What are you looking at? asked the boy. Trouble and treasure, said the old woman. The folk tale captivates young children; older ones want to apply the things they learn (joy for ages 6 - 15, 1st - 10th grade). Selected by the State of Vermont for primary school career curriculum. This picture book on the value of work bridges the gap between what kids learn about business and economics--and what they should know (how to observe and serve others).
