British Museum: Christ by Rowena Loverance
The remarkable narrative of the life of Christ is the origin of Christian faith and belief. This beautiful book traces the key events of Christ's life to reveal the Christian perspective on the central themes of temptation, prayer, healing, faith, suffering and redemption. Illustrated with superb images of religious art from two millennia, the book is an ideal companion for those interested in the evolution of Christian thought or simply with a love of religious and devotional art.
Rowena Loverance is a specialist in Byzantine sculpture and author of Byzantium, an illustrated guide to the Byzantine collections of the British Museum. An enthusiast for ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, she is a former co-President of Churches Together in England, and has travelled widely in Europe and the Near East. She is Head of Outreach at the British Museum and a Visiting Research Fellow at King's College London.
