This collection of photographs show how thoroughly stations, track, motive power and working practices have been modernised.
Andy Sparks is a lifetime railway enthusiast. After leaving school aged 16 he spent over twenty years in heavy engineering, but retrained recently as a chartered surveyor. He has had a number of articles published in the railway press, but this is his first book. Andy lives in Manchester.
