British Values: Getting it Right in a Week by Sarah O'shaugnessy
This book provides future and existing teachers with a simple, manageable framework to help them reflect on, continuously improve, and deeply embed British Values in their classrooms. It will ensure they have clear, accurate government definitions of British Values, that their classroom practices are inclusive and non-prejudicial, and that their curriculum and teaching practices address cultural diversity within their specific school context. In addition, the text will enable teachers to understand and implement the Prevent strategy as part of their statutory responsibility for the safeguarding of children and young people. Designed to be read over a week, the book is divided into seven practical chapters, each detailing clear strategies, examining the strategy in action, and summarising the relevant underpinning law or theory.
