Broadcasts from the Blitz by Phillip Seib
Edward R Murrow's radio broadcasts from 1939 to 1941 brought the blitz into America's living rooms. Murrow told his audience that the US could not avoid a confrontation with Hitler and that the bombs it heard falling during his reports would eventually be targeted at American cities. This book deals with his agenda - to bring US into the war.
Philip Seib is Lucius W. Nieman Professor of Journalism at Marquette University. His newspaper columns and television reporting about politics and social issues have won numerous awards. He lives near Milwaukee.
