Born in Cork, Ireland, Sheena Dempsey studied fine art at the Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology before moving to London, where she graduated from Kingston University with an MA in illustration. Her debut picture book, Bye Bye Baby Brother!, was described by the Observer as ‘a fantastic idea about how to explore sibling jealousy in a light, true and humorous way.’ She has also illustrated a fiction title for older children by Kevin Stevens – The Powers: The Not-So-Super Superheroes. About Bruno and Titch Sheena says, "Be it terrapin, puppy or pot-bellied pig, choosing your own pet (or having it choose you) is the most wonderful thing of all.” She lives in South East London with her partner Mick, and a wilful, retired racing greyhound called Sandy.
