James Beard award-winning author Anne Willan is one of the world's leading authorities on cooking and one of only a handful of people to have won the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award from the IACP (1999). She is the founder of the French cooking school La Varenne and is the director of the branches in Burgundy, France and at the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia, and in 2000 she was named Cooking Teacher of the Year by Bon Appetit magazine.
