This study of the Burma campaign during World War II features new research into the battles of Kohima and Imphal, describing how Allied forces adopted new defence tactics in order to defeat the Japanese.
David Rooney studied history at Oxford and then received a research degree in commonwealth history. He's been a senior lecturer at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (the British Army's initial officer training center) and has written extensively on military battles and World War II. His writings include Burma Victory, Wingate and the Chindits, Mad Mike, Military Mavericks, Guerrilla, and Surrender at New Orleans. He lives in London, England.
