The Burnings 1920 by Pearse Lawlor
Lawlor traces the events which led to serious sectarian rioting over three months in 1920 and highlights how the killing of two senior RIC officers resulted in violent anti-catholic pogroms in Banbridge, Dromore and Lisburn.
Pearse Lawlor, a resident of Lisburn, served in various departments of the Northern Ireland Civil Service for forty years. Since retiring he has been conducting research into the violence that occurred in the north in 1920.
