Part II of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954 has been amended by a Regulatory Reform Order implemented on 1 June 2004. The reforms affect the law of business tenancies and particularly: security of tenure, termination, renewal, notices, the calculation of interim rent, and exclusion under the Act. Jason Hunter is a partner and Head of Russell-Cooke's Contentious Property department where he specialises in commercial and residential property disputes. He is Chairman of the Property Litigation Association and, on behalf of the PLA, is a member of the Government's Sounding Board on the reforms to the 1954 Act.
