Byron by Phyllis Grosskurth
The first biography of Lord Byron for over forty years uses the Lovelace Papers, a huge treasure trove of personal documents, to form a portrait of an extraordinary man. Grosskurth also uses Byron's letters to complete the picture. Originally published in 1997.
Phyllis Grosskurth's first book was a biography of John Addington Symonds, which won the Governor General's Award for Non-Fiction in Canada. She has been a Professor of English at the University of Toronto for many years.
