Judith Herrin is Professor of Late Antique and Byzantine Studies at King’s College London. Her celebrated book, The Formation of Christendom, was published in many languages. She is a member of the editorial board of Past and Present and was Stanley J. Seeger Professor of Byzantine History at Princeton University.
