Paul E. Walker is Deputy Director for Academic Programs, Center for Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Chicago and a historian of ideas specializing in medieval Islamic history. He has published numerous papers and over a dozen books, including most recently The Fatimids: Select Papers on Their Governing Institutions, Social and Cultural Organization, Religious Appeal, and Rivalries (2021).
