Calling the Horses by Sir Peter O'sullevan

Peter O'Sullevan, owner, tipster and TV racing commentator, recalls more than 50 years of involvement with horse racing. He includes anecdotes from track and turf and recalls his childhood in Surrey, his recurrent ill-health in his youth and his early efforts to make it as a racing journalist from his hospital bed. He started in earnest in journalism as a racing reporter for the Press Association after the war. He then joined the Daily Express where he remained for 30 years, while also becoming the BBC TV commentator. The highlights of half a century's achievements, including the victories of his horses Be Friendly and Attivo, are recalled in detail.
