Disaster, death, and romance come to a boil as a normal day spirals into pandemonium in a series of bizarre events. Underneath the laughs wriggle a number of questions that won't go quietly: Where is home? If life is a struggle, is it about taking control, holding on, or letting go? Despite the antics of lovers, husbands, and eccentric customers, these reluctant heroines do their best to survive.
Saumya Balsari grew up in India and lived in Denmark before moving to Cambridge. A 'drifting maverick' in her words, she gave up foreign language studies, translation and teaching, resumed free-lance journalism and became a humour columnist. Her play for Kali Theatre Company's Futures later developed into the novel The Cambridge Curry Club. Cited by a popular website as one of Britain's leading South Asian women, she is currently working on a second novel and multicultural stories for children.
