Campervan Crazy by David Eccles
Introduced in the 1950s, the campervan was designed to be multi-functional. Since then, it has taken on a life of its own, or rather, it has been taken into the lives of its owners. This book traces the cult of the campervan, from family runabouts to holiday home and design icon.
Dave and Cee Eccles have been around VW Campers since 1976, when they bought a Split Screen Camper, gave up their teaching jobs and spent a year travelling through Persia and Afghanistan to Kashmir and India. From 1990 they were very active members of the Split Screen Van Club and for 10 years edited the club magazine. Dave is also editor of Volkswagen Camper and Commercial, a quarterly magazine dedicated exclusively to the VW Bus.
