This is a wonderful book which tells the story of Granddad Fred and his stroke. It provides a child-friendly explanation of a complicated condition with unfamiliar problems in very simple terms, which may be useful for adults as well. The book treats the topic with sensitivity and warmth. It explains the 'FAST' campaign and underlines the importance of getting someone with a suspected stroke to hospital very quickly. It also explains why the stroke may have happened, the problems Granddad has afterwards and the professionals who help him and Joan with rehabilitation.
