Can I Touch Your Hair? by Troy Brown

It's Zaria Brown's first day of school. When she walks into the class room the other students notice something different about her, her hair. Zaria's class mates are amazed at how different she looks from them. They ask her to let them touch her hair. At first she agrees but begins to feel overwhelmed as they all make her feel singled out for her unique appearance. See how Zaria finds her inner strength to stand up for herself and accept her differences.
Troy Brown is a former professional football player for the New England Patriots, having played with them for 15 seasons as a wide receiver, defensive back, and punt returner. He retired from the NFL after the 2007 season and is now a commentator for Comcast SportsNet New England and a cohost of NFL Sunday on Boston's Sports Radio 850 WEEI. Christopher Price is the author of The Blueprint: How the New England Patriots Beat the System to Create the Last Great NFL Superpower--which was named by Sports Illustrated as one of the top-five sports books of 2007--and New England Patriots: The Complete Illustrated History. He has contributed to the Boston Globe, ESPN.com, SI.com, and the Washington Post, having covered Boston sports for the last 15 years. They both live in Boston.
