Canadian Rockies Handbook by Andrew Hempstead

Canadian Rockies Handbook is a complete historical and practical reference for visitors and locals alike that invites them to some of the most spectacular outdoor wonders to be found.'

Andrew Hempstead has spent many years exploring, photographing, and writing about Canada as a full-time travel writer and photographer. Every each summer, he looks forward to returning to his home in the Canadian Rockies, where he can explore mountain routes and hiking paths, discover new spots, and update old favorites. He spends as much time on the road as possible, traveling incognito and experiencing the region's numerous and varied attractions, just as his readers do. The result is the book you're holding in your hands, which is the most comprehensive and up-to-date resource for traveling in the Canadian Rockies. Andrew has been writing since the late 1980s, when he quit his job in advertising and moved to Alaska, where he collaborated with experienced travel writer Deke Castleman on the fourth edition of the Moon Guide to Alaska and the Yukon.

He has since written guidebooks for British Columbia, Vancouver and Victoria, Alberta, Western Canada, Atlantic Canada, and Nova Scotia. He's also the author of Moon travel guides to Australia and New Zealand, as well as a contributor to Moon San Juan Islands, Road Trip USA, Northwest Best Destinations, and Eyewitness Guide to the United States, as well as the updater of The Illustrated Guide to New Zealand. His work has appeared in publications such as National Geographic Traveler, Travesias, Where, Interval World, Microsoft's Automap, and the Alaska Airlines and Expedia websites, among others. Andrew has given a national talk on guidebook writing, contributed to a university-level travel writing textbook, and been interviewed by CNN Travel as a Canadian travel expert.

Andrew resides in Banff, Canada, with his wife and two children.
