He has been an auctioneer, Head of Victorian Paintings, and was former curator of art, exhibition organiser and Corporate Membership Manager at the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. His published work includes Marine Painting (1995) and Yachts on Canvas (1998), and catalogue entries for major exhibitions.
