Parris-Moore, Kira: - Kira Parris-Moore is a licensed marriage and family therapist with over 15 years of experience in mental health working with children and adults including 8 years of experience in case management. Kira enjoys serving her community and working with the underserved and underprivileged. Kira has a passion for multicultural issues and has been utilized to facilitate discussions in the workplace on racial trauma and cultural sensitivity. When she is not working, she is spending time with her husband and boys, ages 9 and 5, listening to audiobooks, walking, or catching up with friends. Kira has authored two other books for children; Trey the Chef a tribute to her son who has autism and Suzy the Dressmaker modeled after a friend and a book about overcoming anxiety. Kira hopes that her books can be a resource to those suffering in silence with mental health issues and help to destigmatize mental health in the black and brown communities.
